Overnight storms dump on parts of our area; 6-8 inches of rain in some locations

Parts of our area saw significant rainfall with overnight storms.

According to the National Weather Service in Topeka, five to eight inches of rain fell over southern Ottawa County, prompting a flood warning for the area. Additionally, six to eight inches of rain fell in parts of Lincoln County and northern Saline County, also prompting a flood warning.

While the northern part of the county was inundated with rain, just over three inches of rain was reported in north-central Salina, while near the Eagle Radio studios in southeast Salina, 1.10 inches was reported. At the Salina Regional Airport, 0.52 of an inch was reported for the 24-hour period ending at 7 a.m. Sunday.
