Alex Todd Higbie, 34, of Richmond, KS passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 near Waverly, KS.  He was born November 1, 1989 in Lawrence, KS the son of Michael Higbie and Betty (Hopkins) Higbie.  He graduated from the West Franklin High School in Pomona, KS with the Class of 2008. 

Alex began work as a Ranch Hand for the Judd Ranch in Pomona, KS and later was a Monument Installer for Dodds Memorials in Ottawa, KS.  He was a Foreman for Wright’s Tree Service in Ottawa, KS for eleven years. Alex currently worked as a Technician for EDP Renewables at Waverly, KS.

Alex was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer and geese. He also enjoyed farming with his best friend, Gene Greer; playing the guitar; and working on his square bodied Chevy trucks. He especially loved spending time with his son, Cash. Alex was an amazing, wonderful and proud Dad.  He was ornery at times, hilarious and quick witted, but tender hearted.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin Hugh and Roberta Higbie; Thomas and Mary Hopkins and an honorary grandpa, Cloice Shepherd.

Surviving family includes, his parents, Michael and Betty Higbie of Pomona, KS; his son, Cash McCoy Higbie; soulmate, Shelbye Fish and daughter, Harper of Richmond, KS; three sisters, Holly Thurman and daughters, Rhett Ann and Blakely Kay of Ottawa, KS, Bethany Chisam and husband, Milan and daughter, Autumn and son, Isaiah Chisam of Gainesville, MO, and Courtney Reedy-Higbie of Baldwin City, KS.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Hope Anthem Church, 520 E. 13th Street, Ottawa, KS 66067.  Interment will follow at Central Cemetery, Pomona, KS.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2024 at Hope Anthem Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cash McCoy Higbie Education Fund and sent in c/o the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O.
