What do major GOP candidates have to say about getting your vote?

SALINA, KAN., - The Kansas GOP bus stop tour made it's way to Salina this week.

"The key is getting out and people out to vote," said (R) Ty Masterson, who is running for Governor. "I actually expect a decent turnout. I mean it's hard to tell. We're certainly encouraging everybody to get out."

The tour included several GOP names running for office.

"Now my opponent will tell you he's all things to all people, but we need to tear the mask off that guy," (R) U.S. Senator Roger Marshall told the partisan crowd at the Tony's Pizza Events Center. "We know that Adam Hamilton, if elected, it would give control of the (U.S.) senate to Chuck Schumer."

There was a small group of protesters outside the event carrying signs. But that protest group was turned away at the doors. Those organizing the Salina event told protesters it was space rented out by a private group for the day at the event center.

"I think you are going to see opposing views expressed here in Kansas," said Masterson. "That's another good reason to encourage everyone to get out and vote in November."

While it rained outside, the crowd inside was loud, cheering and full of questions for candidates for office on the GOP ticket.

"The bus tour is a great way to energize voters," said Masterson.
