CONCORDIA – Ahead of next Monday’s 2020-21 season opener, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team has been picked to finish fourth in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Preseason Poll released on Tuesday, January 19th.

The fourth-place preseason selection for Cloud County comes following a 2019 campaign that saw the T-Birds finish 23-9 overall and make the NJCAA Division II Plains District B Tournament. CCCC was ranked as high as number 11 in the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Top-20 poll, and will look to take the next step into contention atop the KJCCC.

Earning top-honors in the KJCCC Division II Preseason poll was Johnson County Community College as the Cavaliers are predicted to bounce back from last year’s fifth-place finish in the conference. Perennial KJCCC power Cowley was picked to finish second in the poll with Highland coming in at number three just ahead of Cloud County. Last year’s top-two finishers Coffeyville and Fort Scott were picked to finish sixth and seventh, respectively following the departure of their head coaches at the end of last season.

The 2020-21 Cloud County volleyball season is set to get underway on Monday as the T-Birds will play host to Kansas City Kansas Community College inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium at 6:30 p.m. Due to KJCCC rules, no fans will be allowed to any KJCCC athletic event through Feb. 5. All CCCC home basketball games this season will be streamed live at www.cloudtbirds.com/video/tbirdsportsnetwork.
