A Motorcyclist was sent to the hospital when a driver's view was 'blocked,' before a motorcycle-vehicle accident occurred in Salina.
According to the Salina Police Department a motorcycle-vehicle accident occurred on Sunday, June 15th on 9th and Belmont streets in Salina. It was reported that on Sunday afternoon, a 2014 Harley Davidson was going southbound on 9th and a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer was heading northbound on 9th.
Police stated that the Trailblazer was making a turn to go west on Belmont and struck the motorcycle afterwards. Police reported before the crash, a vehicle uninvolved in the accident was going southbound on 9th and was in the inner turning lane, as the Trailblazer was in the outer turning lane.
It is believed that the vehicle that was not involved in the crash, was 'blocking the view' of the Trailblazer when making the turn and striking the motorcyclist.
The driver of the motorcycle is a 62-year old male of Lincoln, KS and was sent to a hospital in Wichita, KS after suffering a broken wrist, ribs and possibly a pelvis.
The Salina Fire Department responded to the scene immediately, as they were nearby when the crash occurred.
The accident is currently under investigation.
