In a mission to "Relive the Past and Drive the Future," The Garage Automotive Museum announced its plan to renovate a recognizable gas station at the intersection of North Ninth and Bishop streets.

According to a recent social media post by The Garage, the gas station is a current stop for the Thursday Night Cruisers, a local group of antique vehicle enthusiasts, and adds to the automotive history of Salina.

The Garage staff said that all activities related to the Thursday Night Cruisers will remain the same through the renovation process.

Smoky Hill Construction officially began the renovation this week by pouring new concrete at the property. Multiple community businesses and private donors funded this renovation, and The Garage intends to continue with crowdfunding to pay for the rest of the renovation.

The Garage credited Board President Tom Pestinger and his team of volunteers for the vision of this renovation project, and contributing hours of time and resources to bring it into reality.

Those interested in contributing to the project can contact [email protected] or text at 785-826-5073 for further details.
