The KU School of Medicine Salina announced on social media the appointment of Dr. Jacob Hessman as the new Director of Medical Education. Dr. Hessman, a native of Southwest Kansas, brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to enhancing medical education in the community.
Dr. Hessman earned his undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. He completed his Pediatrics residency at The University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, KS. Following his residency, Dr. Hessman served as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Salina Regional Health Center before transitioning to Salina Pediatric Care as a General Pediatrician. He has been teaching at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Salina since 2019.
Dr. Hessman and his wife, who met at Kansas State University, have two children and enjoy engaging in creative and culinary activities in their free time.
The KU School of Medicine Salina looks forward to Dr. Hessman's contributions to its educational programs.
