Unseasonably warm temperatures and gusty southwest winds will elevate the grassland fire danger into the very high category across southern Kansas and to a high level across parts of our area on Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Look for southwest winds in the 20 to 25 mph range Friday afternoon. Outdoor burning is highly discouraged.
