The Bennington girl's basketball team has been on a tear as of late, having now won their last six straight games.
Those wins include two at this year's sub-state tournament as the Lady Bulldogs knocked off Marion 47-42 in the quarterfinals before coming back to defeat Chase County 46-41 in the semis on Friday.
Now, Bennington will have to face the sub-state hosts in 3rd-ranked Hillsboro who are on a ten-game winning streak themselves after eliminating Northern Heights 65-15 on Tuesday, and Sacred Heart 38-15 last night.
This will be a matchup of the two highest seeds in the bracket as the Lady Trojans enter as the 1-seed while the Lady Bulldogs come in as the 2.
Bennington is one of only two teams in our area to have both their boys and girls playing on a sub-state Saturday, looking to punch a ticket to this year's state tournaments.
Tip-off between the Lady Bulldogs (17-5) and Trojans (19-3) is scheduled for 7:00 at Hillsboro High School on Saturday, with the winner punching their ticket to the 2A state tournament in Manhattan next week.
