A bus driver was cited for failure to yield after colliding with a UPS truck Tuesday morning in north Salina.
Jerald St. Clair, 71, of Salina, was northbound on North Fourth Street in a 2012 Thomas Built bus when he failed to yield the right of way at an uncontrolled intersection to a UPS 1996 International DS tractor truck driven by David Knott, 25, of Salina, that was westbound on East Hamilton Avenue, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning. The accident occurred at 11:30 a.m.
The bus also was occupied by an adult male and five juvenile passengers, Forrester noted.
The bus sustained front-end damage and was removed by the driver and the truck sustained front-end damage and had to be towed, Forrester explained.
St. Clair was cited for failure to yield the right of way and Knott was cited for no driver's license in possession, Forrester noted.
