Two minor quakes strike Dickinson County early Tuesday

DICKINSON COUNTY - Two minor earthquakes shook parts of Dickinson County early this morning.

The first, a magnitude 2.2 quake, struck at 4:27 a.m. Tuesday northwest of Herington, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. It was centered just northwest of the intersection of Kansas Highway 4/Trail Road.

The second, a 2.1 quake, struck at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday just east of Solomon. It was centered just west of Barn Road between 2200 Avenue and E. Seventh Street, according to the Kansas Geological Survey.
