Two more quakes shake parts of Dickinson County

HOPE -- Two additional earthquakes shook parts of Dickinson County overnight.

After a 3.1 magnitude quake struck northeast of Hope late Monday afternoon (read here), a second quake rattled the area to the east of Hope at 11:52 p.m. Monday, according to the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS). That quake, reported to be a 2.5 magnitude temblor, was centered just east of Paint Road between Kansas Highway 4 and 600 Avenue.

A third earthquake shook the area northeast of Hope and northwest of Herington at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday. The 2.3 magnitude quake was centered north of 800 Avenue between Sage Road and Trail Road.
