Sylvia Skanks, 86 of Bennington, Kansas passed away Monday, August 23, 2021.
She was born in Pomona, Kansas on May 25, 1935, to George and Goldie Spurgeon. Most people called her Toots, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew her as Grandma Toots.
She is survived by her three sons, Tracy (Angel) Williamson of Farmington, NM, Dwayne (Erin) Nisbeth of Bennington, KS, and G.R. (George Russell) (Lori) Nisbeth, Abilene, KS; daughter Barbara (Doug) Loe, Salina, KS; brothers Clarence Spurgeon (TX), Darrell Spurgeon (OK); sister Jessie Buxman, Lincoln, KS; 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mike Williamson and brothers Bob, Bud, and David Spurgeon.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the United Church of Bennington, with Pastor Cynthia Smart officiating.
