Kathy K. Gomer, 79, of Bella Vista, Ark. passed away January 10, 2023. She was born, Kathleen Kay Richardson, on July 8, 1943 to Harold and Dorothy (Moxham) Richardson in Belleville, KS.

She married her high school sweetheart, Chuck Gomer, on June 2, 1963.  They spent their first five years of marriage with Chuck in the United States Air Force, the last three years living in Germany while stationed at Sembach Air Base.  They returned to the states in 1968 with two children and built a life in the Kansas City area for the next 33 years. 

Kathy worked in the Shawnee Mission School District and retired in 2001 from her position as an elementary school secretary.  Kathy was a founding member of two esteemed organizations, ESRM and Yahoos. 

Kathy and Chuck moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 2001 where they have enjoyed their retirement years.  She played golf for several years with the Metfield Mommies.  She enjoyed camping in Colorado, kayaking, and was a member of Bella Vista Community Church. 

She was a loving grandmother, and thoroughly enjoyed her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Dorothy Richardson; infant brother Ronald; and two sisters, Corinne Meadows and Linda Butler-Woods.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Chuck Gomer; two children, daughter Chris Bergman (John West) of Phoenix, AZ, and son Charlie Gomer (Christina) of Lake Quivira, KS; four grandchildren, Abby (Gomer) Strauss (Ben and great-grandson Bear), Josh Gomer (Monica and great-granddaughter Vida), Cassie Gomer, and Chloe Bergman; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS with Pastor Amos McCarthy, officiating.

The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the services at the church.

Inurnment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery, rural Wayne, Kansas.
