SALINA- Terry D. Harris, passed away on February 8, 2023. Terry was born on January 30, 1940, in Paducah, KY to John Henry Harris and Florence (Merritt) Harris.

He has two brothers, his twin Jerry Alton Harris and Kenneth Ray Harris. The brothers grew up in Paducah and Terry and Jerry would often swap seats at school to tease the teachers and their friends. All three brothers joined the Army as medics. Terry obtained the rank of PFC.

Terry met his wife, Sheila Kay in Washington, DC when he was a GI at Fort Belvoir, in 13th field hospital. They met at the USO club. His daughter, Alison was born in VA in 1963 and Barbara was born in Salina in 1968.  They moved back to KS to be near her family. They married on December 25, 1960, because that was the only day his parents could come from KY. His beloved wife Kay passed away in 2011.

Terry worked for Richardson Moving Co., and then construction, building Westinghouse. Later, he went to Beech Aircraft and retired from there.

He enjoyed many activities, including riding motorcycles, geo-caching, knitting, crocheting, and being involved with his church.  He enjoyed making things and giving them away. He was especially fond of spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 834 N. 11th, Salina, KS 67401, with burial at Lincoln City Cemetery, Lincoln, KS, following the service.
