Frances Laurel Lewis aged 100 passed peacefully on October 23, 2024 at Royal Oaks Lifecare Community in Sun City, AZ. She was born April 25, 1924 in the Rosedale District of Kansas City, KS to A. J. and Frances Honeyfield. Frances was Salutatorian of her 1942 graduating class at Collins High School in Collins, MO.
Frances and George were married on April 7, 1945, in Santa Maria, CA. After a few years in Kansas City, they moved to Salina, KS in 1948. They had 2 children, Sharon and Dean. Frances was a homemaker as well as a bookkeeper and scheduler for George's floor-covering business for 30 years in Salina. Semi-retirement found them in Pine River and Longville, MN operating The Quiet Place Retreat. After tiring of the cold snowy winters of northern Minnesota for nearly 20 years, they settled for retirement in Sun City West, AZ in 1997.
Frances was a devout Christian and it showed thru her loving and caring spirit. Her wisdom and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace embraced by the love of her family and the grace of her savior.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, husband George Lewis, daughter Sharon Moyer, and her 6 siblings. She is survived by her son Dean (Debra) Lewis of Salina, KS, 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A special big thank you to family friend Jim Schriber, for his continuous companionship and caring for Frances since George's passing 10 years ago. He is a true blessing from God.
A Living Celebration of Life was held in 2017 for Frances and her sister Mahala.
