Gaylene L. Youngberg, 79, of Salina, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020. She was born in St. John, on December 22, 1940 and was adopted by Melburn and Edna (Parr) Shanks. Gaylene graduated from Stafford High School in 1958. After High School she attended and graduated from Fort Hays State University and then received her PhD from Kansas State University in 1989. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years.

Survivors include her son, Henry Stoltenberg, of Bushton, and stepdaughters, Rene Poradeck (Gayle), of St. Paul, MN, Sherry Gotto (Steve) of Oto, IA; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ramon Stoltenberg; second husband Robert Youngberg; brother Blaine Shanks.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
