Jerridee Ida Vernon, 85, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021.

Jerri was born in Oberlin, Kansas on September 23, 1935, a daughter of the late Armenia "Babe" (Hickman) and Jerome "Shorty" Manning.

She was a resident of Salina, Kansas; Ardmore, Oklahoma; and Kanopolis, Kansas since 1969. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary in the medical field until retirement.

Jerri married Dennis Vernon on July 3, 1953 and to this union were born two daughters, Ryekel and Sue Ann and one son, Kirby.

Survivors include two daughters, Ryekel "Ric" Gengler, of Topeka, Sue Ann Vernon (Mike Hine), of Salina; a son, Kirby Vernon (Christy), of Wichita. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three step- grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Vernon; brothers, Clarence, Kenneth and sister, Patty Brown.

Cremation was chosen. There will be no visitation.

A celebration of life/memorial service will be at Oak Hollow - Webster Conference Center at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Friends of the Salina Animal Shelter or Infant Child Development, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas 67401.
