The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced its 12-member class of 2023 last weekend. Among the inductees is longtime Purdue coach Gene Keady, who has deep connections to Kansas.
The Larned native and Larned High School graduate went to school at Garden City Junior College before transferring to Kansas State in Manhattan.
His first coaching position was in the Beloit school district. He then advanced to the college ranks, leading Hutchinson Junior College for a decade started in 1965.
He coached at Purdue from 1980 to 2005.
