It's the spring, so a perfect game is something that could happen, in baseball or softball. The Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer team wanted to join in the fun of a perfect game, as the Coyotes held Dakota Wesleyan without a shot in the match, and cruised to a 2-0 win on Tuesday at the Graves Family Sports Complex.

Both teams had to battle a strong and gusty south wind throughout the match that made playing the ball interesting, especially on corner kicks, where the ball would blow off its mark several times.

The Coyotes scored an early goal into the wind in the eighth minute. Lissette Garcia (JR/Bakersfield, Calif.) made a play on a ball at the top of the box, but DWU goalkeeper Hannah Bowes came all the way out to defend the ball, and fell down, leaving an untended goal for the easy score for Garcia.

The 1-0 difference would carry over to the half.

The Coyotes a bit more offensive looks with the wind at their backs in the second half. Twelve of KWU's 18 shots in the match came in the second 45.

KWU's second goal came in the 68th minute. Garcia was in on the play, sending a pass across the field to Yesenia Hernandez (JR/Long Beach, Calif.) who would take the shot from 10 yards out top shelf for the score.

Kayla Deaver (JR/Lee's Summit, Mo.), Garcia and Mariah Sigala (JR/South El Monte, Calif.) all had three shots each for the Coyotes to lead the way.

KWU is on the road on Saturday, taking on Avila in Kansas City.
