Salina- William Richard "Dick" Commerford, 71, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021. He was born in Salina, to Charles and Eunice (Burke) Commerford, on August 18, 1949. He married the love of his life, Patricia Kay Wood, on September 7, 1968 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1967, served for the National Guard, then attended Kansas Wesleyan University.
Dick was happily employed at Stanion Electric Wholesale for over a decade. There he handled projects bids and quotations for the Salina branch. Prior to Stanion, he owned and operated DD&S Electric for over 35 years.
Dick was a loving husband and father with a very strong work-ethic. He was loyal, sensitive, intelligent and kind-hearted.
Survivors include his wife, Kay of the home; daughter Nicole Hilton (John), of Hume, MO; brothers, Don Commerford (Cathy) and Robert Commerford.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Colleen Commerford; and brother Phillip.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021 at Ryan Mortuary. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
