Ruth Eldine Ledbetter
April 1, 1927 — March 8, 2024

Ruth’s life began on April 1, 1927, in Comanche, OK. She was the daughter of Preston O. and Betsy (Stump) Ratcliff. She was married to William A. McNeil and after that marriage dissolved, she married William Ledbetter on February 25, 1946.

Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Potwin United Methodist Church. She stayed active in the church, serving as funeral dinner chairperson, United Methodist Women, her Circle group and as a church volunteer for nearly all events. She was involved with Helping Hands, a 32-year member of the Lion’s Club, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Grandmother’s Club. 

She is survived by her grandchildren Candy Howard of Hayesville and Troy McNeil of Honolulu, HI; great grandchildren Megan, Tony, Travis, Sophia, Bob, and Meighan Jo; great great grandchild Bailey and many dear friends. 

Ruth passed away on March 8, 2024, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Joe McNeil, brother Jerry Ratcliff, sister Juanita Dale and great grandson Joey McNeil. 

Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday March 13, 2024, from 10-11 a.m. at the Potwin United Methodist Church where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. led by Chaplain Norman Tillotson. She will be laid to rest in McGill Cemetery, Potwin. Lamb Funeral Home is serving the family.  Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the Potwin United Methodist Church.
