Phyllis Arlene (King) Bagby

Phyllis Arlene (King) Bagby, 92, of Overbrook, Kansas died Monday, May 6, 2024 at Brookside Assisted Living in Overbrook, Kansas.
She was born February 23, 1932 in Richland, Kansas the daughter of Ernest and Dora Mae (Lee) King. She graduated from Berryton Rural High School with the class of 1950.
On August 9, 1950, Phyllis was united in marriage to Leon Robert Bagby in Richland, Kansas. They spent 48 loving years together until his passing in 1998.
Phyllis worked as a supervisor at Josten’s for 27 years.
She was a part of the Twin Mound Cemetery Association, Overbrook Auxiliary, Clinton Presbyterian Women’s Group, Clinton Historical Society, and Clinton Quilters. Phyllis was a member of Stull United Methodist Church and Stull United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Dora King; her husband, Leon Bagby; a son, Steve Bagby; two brothers, Myron King and Kenneth King; a sister, Dorothy Noller; a grandson, Jason Smoot; and two son-in-laws, Randy Smoot and Bruce Faust.
She is survived by three daughters, Pamala Faust of Overbrook, KS, Robin Smoot of Topeka, KS, and Cheryl Dixon and her husband, Larry, of Tecumseh, KS; four grandchildren, Alan Faust, Mike Smoot, Rachel Wiezorek and her husband, Jake, and Bobby Dixon and his wife, Brianna; and five great-grandchildren, Josh Smoot and his wife, Katie, Cody Cooper, Wyatt Wiezorek and Hazel Wiezorek.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Twin Mound Cemetery, Overbrook, KS. At Phyllis’s request, there will be no flowers.
