Carmen Angulo (SR/Long Beach, Calif.) posted a 3-0 record in three appearances last week en route to being named the KCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week as selected by conference sports information directors.
Angulo was a huge factor for KWU in the circle this week. She picked up three wins, shutting out Saint Mary and getting both wins in the Bethany series.
Against Saint Mary, she held the Spires to three hits in a complete game shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks.
She pitched a complete game for the first win against Bethany, striking out five and holding Bethany to three hits. She then got the win in the second game as KWU won in extra innings. She went 2.1 innings, with a strikeout, allowing one unearned run.
She posted a 3-0 record on the week while pitching 16.1 innings allowing seven total hits and one earned run for a 0.43 ERA with 14 total strikeouts, and only one walk.
KWU is 10-13 overall and 4-2 in the KCAC heading into Tuesday's Kansas Conference doubleheader with McPherson in McPherson.
