March 12, 1964 ~ May 14, 2024

Loren Kay Berndt, 60, of Salina, died May 14, 2024, in Wichita, KS.  He was born March 12, 1964, in Salina, the son of Kenneth and Evalyn (Briney) Berndt. Loren was a farmer and rancher in the Saline and Ottawa County area. He served as long time chairman of the Saline County Soil Conservation District. He was a life time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he held most positions within the church along with being a member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League (LLL). Loren was an avid K-State fan and season ticket holder. His favorite parts of K-State game days were tailgating and watching the band perform. He also loved to show off his antique tractor collection.

Loren is survived by his wife, Phyllis and children, Lucas Berndt and Cortney Berndt, his parents, and siblings, Leslie (Lisa) Berndt, twin sister, Karen (Mike) Weis, Dennis (Pam) Berndt, and Douglas (Melissa) Berndt; and his many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina. Burial will be at Crown Point Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, from 4- 8:00 pm on Friday, May 17th. Family will be receiving friends from 5 until 7 pm that evening.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Laymen’s League (LLL) at Trinity.
