
Gloria Kahler, age 83, passed away peacefully Monday, February 17, 2025 in Lindsborg, KS. She was born August 13, 1941 in Clay County, KS to Kenneth and Naomi (McCormick) Hite.
Gloria grew up in Oak Hill, KS and graduated from Clay Center High School. She worked in the health care field and gained much satisfaction from it, working many years in Clay Center and Yates Center. She married Howard Kahler in 1987 and lived in several communities, finally retiring in Lindsborg, KS. Gloria was a loving mother and grandmother and her talents were many. She had a beautiful voice and when they were younger, often sang harmony with her sister at various events. She also sang in the church choir, was in a bowling league for many years, and loved to paint, crochet and decorate her home. She will be remembered for her baking and her willingness to fill containers with her famous chocolate chip cookies to give to her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Gladys Conner.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Howard Kahler of Lindsborg, KS; son Timothy Berggren and wife Robin of Lindsborg; daughters Lana Bergman and husband Paul of Arlington Heights, IL, Jan Scharping and husband Brian of Wichita, KS; stepdaughter Darla Mann and husband Tom of Haysville, KS; grandchildren Shane Berggren (Holly), Jacob Berggren (Jay Pomeroy), April Faulkner (Matthew), Harry Bergman, Heather Baldwin (Cody), Megan Jenkins (Forrest), Eric Scharping, Nicholas Scharping (Samantha Kelley), and Bailey Mann; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Raymond Hite and sisters Patricia Haguewood, Virginia Payne and Linda Story; plus many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington St., Lindsborg, KS.
