Wintry precipitation is on the way.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita, most areas will see drizzle or light rain through the afternoon hours on Sunday. By Sunday evening, central Kansas will begin to transition to freezing rain and then become mostly snow.

The transition zone of rain to freezing rain will drift southeast through the overnight hours and may occasionally mix with snow.

Snow and a mix of snow and freezing rain will continue across the area on Monday, NWS noted. Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy surfaces. Highs will struggle to get out of the 20s across much of central and south central Kansas.
