Six vehicles in southwest Salina were found to be spray painted over the weekend.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that the incidents first came to light when Franklin Britton, 52, of Salina, reported at approximately 9:40 p.m. Saturday that his 2004 GMC pickup had red spray paint on the grill and headlights. The pickup was parked in the 400 block of Venus.

A witness told police that two juveniles on bicycles were responsible for the paint, Forrester said. Officers found a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old on bicycles nearby in the 1700 block of Hageman Avenue. They were in possession of spray paint, Forrester said.

A total of six vehicles in that neighborhood were found to be spray painted, Forrester said. All cases are believed to be related.
