Phyllis Lorene Gardenhire 82, of Salina, passed away, Friday, February 17, 2023.
She was born March 29, 1940 in Oakley, Kansas to the late Laurence and Leona (Tinsley) Jones.
She had worked for Westinghouse/Phillips Light as a lamp group operator for 40-plus years before retiring.
Phyllis will be remembered as someone who loved to cook, crochet and play gospel music on her organ; she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents Laurence and Leona (Tinsley) Jones; her beloved husband Thomas O. Gardenhire, her sons Thomas Odell Gardenhire, Jr. and Alan Ernest Gardenhire; three sisters, Billie Gardenhire; Valerie Cooley and Margaret Ann Kirtley; two brothers, Gene Jones and Jesse Jones.
Survivors include her daughter Marla (Thomas) Humphrey of Salina, sisters Ernestine Kendrick of Kansas City, KS, Donna Bouknight of Denver, Darlene (Lumas) Kendrick of Denver, Jewell Emanuel of Boulder; Brothers: Larry Jones of Denver, Terry Jones of Savannah, GA; sisters Cindi Houston, Roxanne Johnson and Chris Ukoha all of Denver; brother Tommy Jarmon of Denver; grandson Thomas Alan Max Humphrey of Salina.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina. Inurnment of the cremains will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
