
Lonny K. Abell, age 61, was born on July 27, 1964, to Larry Kent Abell and Jeanne Marie (Quade) Abell, in Hastings, NE. He passes away on September 10 at Lincoln Park Manor in Lincoln, Ks.
After his dad, Larry, got killed in a construction accident when he was a few mo. old they moved back to Lincoln, Ks. They lived there until after his little brother, Randall was born. Then they moved to Salina, Ks. Where he went to school. He loved to cook and was employed as a cook at the new Salina Surgical, where he opened up the kitchen and cooked for the patients and staff there. He also cooked at the Elks Lodge, Salina Country Club and the Bi-Centennial Center, where he cooked for the many acts that played there. He sold some of his recipes to the Food Network and even Emeril Lagasse used some of his recipes on his show. Some of his recipes are used in a food truck in Chicago, IL. He was an artist and drew or painted many pictures. He loved his family and children. He also worked for a time at Ovation Cabinetry before he had to quit work due to a disability. He loved to fish and has the state record of the largest rainbow trout caught. He caught that fish at Lakewood lake in Salina. He also was a musician and played in a band. In 2019 he became paralyzed and had to go into a nursing home and eventually ended up at Lincoln Park Manor, Lincoln, Ks, where he lived until death.
He is preceded in death by his grand parents, Raymond and Alice Buernice Abell, and Adolph and Wilma Quade. His mother, Jeanne M. (Quade) Abell, Potts and his girlfriend, Kim.
He is survived by his children, Brittany Beikmann, and Seth Abell; brothers Randall Abell and Jon Potts and sister Jennifer Swanson. Along with uncles and aunts and cousins.
Cremation was chosen and memorial service will be planned at a later date.
