2 hospitalized in Salina after violent I-70 crash

SALINE COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 3 p.m. Saturday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Scott J. Lucas, 56, Kaysville, Utah, was eastbound on Intestate 70 just west of Solomon. 

The car  entered the median, struck the paved crossing, went airborne and rolled at least one time before coming to rest on its wheels facing east in the median.

EMS transported Lucas and a passenger Thomas F. Peek, 33, Kaysville, Utah, to Salina Regional Health Center. They were both properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
