On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs officially made Creed Humphrey the highest-paid center in NFL history when the two parties agreed to an extension worth $72 million dollars over four years.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal also includes $50 million dollars in guaranteed money for the star in the trenches.
Humphrey ranked among the NFL's best interior linemen last year, ranking second in the NFL with a 98.8% block-win rate, behind only teammate Joe Thuney.
Behind Humphrey, Patrick Mahomes and company were able to lead the Chiefs to yet another Super Bowl victory, their third in four years.
Kansas City opens the NFL season on Thursday, September 7 when they take on the Ravens at 7:20.
