Patricia Ann "Patsy" Gatz, 91, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 4:45 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021 at her home.

Pat was born in McPherson, Kansas on December 1, 1930, a daughter of Ralph Lawson and Audene Florence (Lusher) Jones. She was one of three daughters born to this union, Barbara, Pat, and Merna. Growing up she was baptized and became a member of the First Christian Church.

Pat attended Roosevelt Grade School, McPherson Junior High and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1948.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church McPherson, Kansas where she served as a deacon.

Patricia Ann "Patsy" Jones was united in marriage to Frederick William "Fritz" Gatz on July 18, 1948 at the First Christian Church, McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson. This union was blessed with the birth of three daughters, Mindy, Kathy, and Debbie.

Pat was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked as the head of the motor vehicles department for McPherson County and co-owned, operated and worked for Bates, Gatz, and Regier Accounting and Income Tax, and was a sales person for Western Associates, Marion, Kansas.

Pat was a member of the American Legion Post 24 Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W. Post 2715 Ladies Auxiliary, the Amity Club, and volunteered and worked at the Apt 6 for the McPherson Opera House. She enjoyed collecting Dreamsicles with Deb, Tom, and Barb, taking trips with Mindy and Greg and nieces each year for the last 10 years, gambling trips with Deb, Tom, and Barb, and going to Hawaii with Mindy and Deb. She also enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales with Tom, and playing with her granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

She is survived by her children, Melinda "Mindy" Rhoads and husband Greg, of Marquette, Kansas and Debbie Hamb and husband Tom, of McPherson, Kansas; her granddaughter, Summer Olsen and husband David, of Lindsborg, Kansas; great-granddaughter, Sophie Olsen, of Lindsborg, Kansas; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Audene and Ralph Jones; sisters, Barbara Meats and Merna Pritchard; a daughter, Kathy Gatz; a grandson Jake Rhoads; and her husband Fritz Gatz.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6 2021 at First Presbyterian Church in McPherson, Kansas.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7 2021 at First Presbyterian Church in McPherson, Kansas with Pastor Donna K. Voteau officiating.

The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
