
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has completed review of the recent lab testing results conducted at Salina Central Mall.According to KDHE, no asbestos was detected in the collected samples, and the mall has successfully met KDHE testing requirements.
Because no asbestos hazard was identified through the sampling process, tenants and businesses may proceed with necessary cleaning and repair activities.
The following businesses will remain open because they have separate exterior entrances to their spaces:- Dunham’s Sports - District Eat & Play - Taylor’s Twirlers
In addition, Ross Dress for Less is expected to open once current renovations are complete.We sincerely appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation shown by our tenants, patrons, and the Salina community throughout this process.

SALINA —On Monday, the Central Mall in Salina received the official confirmation from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. "There is no asbestos inside Central Mall."
The Mall can proceed with reopening procedures to clean and work on the roof. The mall has not set a timeline on when the work will be finished and ready to to reopen to the public.
