Salina police are investigating the theft of a vehicle from a downtown Salina parking lot earlier this week.

A 57-year-old Salina man told police that his locked 1995 Jeep Wrangler had been stolen from the west parking lot in the 100 block of South Seventh Street sometime between 4 p.m. Sunday and 9:45 p.m. Monday, Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus reported this morning.

The Jeep is dark green and has bullet hole decals on it, Hanus noted. Items in the Jeep include the following, he reported.

A table saw (still in box)

A Porta-Power tool

A foot-long black Tough Box

Ratchet sets

Screwdriver sets

Aportable hand grinder

Engine headers

A vehicle exhaust system

Fishing poles

According to Hanus, the value of the Jeep and its contents was estimated at $5,900.

Hanus noted that police are looking for video evidence in the area and asked that anyone who observed the Jeep leaving the parking lot between 4 p.m. Sunday and 9:45 p.m. Monday call the Salina Police Department.
