Three teens face multiple requested charges, including aggravated battery, after an altercation with two other people in north Salina early Tuesday evening.

At approximately 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, a patrol officer noticed a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac turn onto E. Elm Street from N. Penn Avenue at a speed well in excess of the posted 30 mph limit, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The officer was able to stop the vehicle in the 200 block of N. Front Street, and three 17-year-old boys exited the vehicle.

One of the boys said he had been shot in the leg, Forrester said.

While this was happening, other officers were dispatched to the 200 block of N. Penn Avenue where two brothers, ages 18 and 20, reported that two of the 17-year-olds rode by on a scooter and began arguing with the brothers. The two teens returned a short time later in the Explorer with the third teen and a physical altercation ensued between the three teens and the two brothers, Forrester said.

During the altercation, both brothers were stabbed with tin snips or some sort of cutting device, Forrester said. At one point, one of the brothers went into the house and returned with a shotgun, firing it in the direction of the three teens. One of the teens was struck in the leg with the shot, Forrester said.

The three teens each were arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester said.

●Two counts of aggravated battery

●Two counts of disorderly conduct

The two brothers were not arrested.
