A Texas woman accused of animal cruelty was arrested Wednesday morning.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) ShaQuilla Weaver (20) of Fort Worth, TX was arrested on a warrant. The warrant was in relation to dogs being dumped in the Saline County on May 14, 2026.
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office took responded to the initial call of the deceased dogs. The dogs were located in the 800 block of N. Fairchilds.
Officers then received information that the dogs had been left in a vehicle in the 1400 block of W. Cloud around the beginning of May. It was believed the dogs succumbed due to heat from being in the vehicle, and then their bodies were dumped in the county.
The investigation identified the dogs being in the care of Weaver.
The Sheriff’s Office then arrested Weaver on Wednesday for the warrant and was booked with the requested charges of Cruelty to animals.
