Linda Roxanne (Roxie) Miller of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. She was born August 1, 1953 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Hays, Kansas, to Alcide Francis and Janet Roberta (Brin) Balthazor.
Linda is survived by her four children: Michelle (Smith) Amado of Gilbert, Arizona, Ryan Smith of Victoria, Kansas, Jenea Miller of Mesa, Arizona, and Jake Miller of St. Francis, Kansas; seven grandchildren; a sister, Melanie Britegam of Salina, brothers John Balthazor of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Tracy Balthazor of Salina.
Roxie spent her early years in Damar, Kansas, moving to Salina in 1967. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1971, and moved from Salina to Casa Grande, Arizona in 1983. She spent the majority of her working career at Electrical District Number 2, commuting from Casa Grande to Coolidge, until a near-fatal car accident on the way to work left her permanently disabled.
A mass of Christian burial is planned for Friday, February 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N. 9th St., Salina, Kansas, with Father John Schmeidler presiding.
