If you're planning to travel into southern Kansas today, keep in mind that the area is receiving snow.
Snow will continue to spread east across much of south-central Kansas today, with snowfall rates nearing 1 inch per hour at times, especially close to the Oklahoma state line, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita. The snow will taper off from west to east this afternoon. Most locations will see 1 to 3 inches of snow, but areas near the Kansas-Oklahoma border may see 3 to 5 inches, NWS noted.
Another round of light snow is expected to move across the area on Tuesday. The best chance will be across south central Kansas. Most of the snow will occur during the daylight hours, with light accumulation amounts, according to NWS.
