OKLAHOMA CITY – Kansas Wesleyan Women's Golf posted a 28th place finish at the NAIA National Championships at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
The Coyotes did not make the cut, and did not play in the third round of the tournament that was cut short a day by heavy rain on Tuesday, when the tournament was supposed to have started.
KWU finished with a team score of 638 for two rounds, finishing well ahead of Rocky Mountain College who had a 661.
Hannah Hart (SO/Ventura, Calif.) paced the Coyote finishers with a 155, tying for 74th, Corey Mein (JR/Liberal, Kan.) shot a 158 tying for 98th, Kristen Sayyalinh (JR/Rockford, Ill.) tied for 125th with a 162, Abby Donovan (FR/Concordia, Kan.) tied for 135th with a 165, and Aidan Richmond (SO/Keller, Texas) tied for 143rd with a 169.
A total of 159 student-athletes, representing 30 full teams and six individual players participated in the tournament.
The University of British Columbia captured the National Championship, finishing with a score of 860 for three rounds, shooting 4-under par for the tournament. Oklahoma City finished second with an 865.
MinJi Kang from Truett McConnell (Ga.) ran away with the individual title, shooting under par every round, including a tournament low 66 in the second round. She finished 12-under par for the tournament with a 204. Oklahoma City's Reagan Chaney finished second with a score of 209, 9-under par.
