UPDATE 11:45 a.m. Monday: Following is the media release from the Salina Police Department concerning the arrest of Tyler Justeane Stanfield in the alleged murder of a 35-year-old Salina man.
On January 22, 2023, pursuant to an investigation, the Salina Police Department developed probable cause to arrest Tyler Justeane Stanfield, age 30, of Salina.
An affidavit has been sent to the Saline County Attorney’s Office, requesting charges of:
• Murder, First Degree
• Felon in Possession of a Firearm
• Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm by an Addicted Person
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Possession of Marijuana
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The decedent is identified as 35-year Cory Dale Riley, of Salina. The next-of-kin has been notified.
Every person accused of a crime is presumed to be innocent unless and until his or her guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a homicide that occurred in central Salina have a suspect in custody.
On Sunday morning, law enforcement dispatch received a call about a shooting that occurred in a residence in the 200 block of S. 10th Street, according to a media release.
First responders located a 35-year-old Salina resident with a gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to Salina Regional Health Center where he underwent surgery. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injury, according to the release.
According to online jail records, police booked 30-year-old Tyler Justeane Stanfield into the Saline County jail just after 3:30p.m. Sunday. She is being held on requested charges of first-degree murder, Criminal discharge of firearm; Recklessly at occupied dwelling and Criminal distribution of firearm to felon; Felony convction < 5 years.
Police have released no additional details. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is assisting police with the investigation.
