Salina Police are currently searching for the suspect(s) who allegedly stole and abandoned a pickup truck.

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Friday, July 11th at around 8:00 am, a pickup truck was stolen at the Village Inn Motel on 453 S. Broadway. Police stated that a report was made at that time about a blue/gray 1994 Chevy 2500 pickup was stolen from in front of the motel room of where it was parked.

Accordingly, the owner lent the truck over to their friend who was staying at the motel. The friend of the owner left the keys inside the truck before it was stolen that Friday morning. Police stated that the borrower 'heard the truck start and drive away' while they were inside their room. The borrower then called SPD to report about the incident

Later that same day in the early afternoon, SPD received a call from Atwoods Ranch & Home (400 S. Broadway) about a 'suspicious truck parked behind the store.' Officers then arrived to the scene and located the Chevy 2500 pickup abandoned.

There are no identified suspect(s) at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
