Shannan Deanne Souder, 54, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022, surrounded by family at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. She worked in the health care industry, most recently as a support provider for MCDS (Multi Community Diversified Services) in McPherson.
Shannan was born on August 17, 1967, in North Kansas City, MO, the daughter of David E. and Susan K. (Brandt) Souder. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1985. She attended Hutchinson Community College.
Survivors include: her husband Dennis Embrey of the home; three children, Chad Richert (Justin Cook) of Dallas, TX, AshLeigh Brodin of Kansas City, MO, and Sierra Kerbs of Joplin, MO; three siblings, Scott Souder of Kansas City, MO, Aric Souder (Tara) of McPherson, KS, and Kelli Jarvis of McPherson, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. David and Susan Souder, and a brother, Patrick Souder.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 17, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor John Pattison officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
