One person was injured in an accident at approximately 12:45 p.m. Monday in Salina.
The Salina Police Department reported a white 2011 Toyota Corolla, driven by Caden Nelson, 24, Brookville, was traveling east on Crawford Street when it went to make a left-hand turn north into the Taco Bell parking lot, 1700 W. Crawford Street, and subsequently hit a dark purple 2003 Honda motorcycle.
Salina Police Seargeant Kyle Tonniges said this morning that the victim of the accident, Joel Luts, 26, Salina, was driving his motorcycle west on Crawford Street and drove into the passenger side of the Corolla while it was making its turn.
According to Tonniges, Luts did sustain serious injuries as a result of the accident, but they were not life threatening.
EMS transported Luts to Salina Regional Health Center. Nelson was issued a citation for failing to yield while making a left hand turn.
