PAWNEE COUNTY—A Kansas man was injured in an accident just before 3p.m. Monday in Pawnee County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Kenworth semi driven by Zachary Humphreys, 36, Abilene, was traveling on U.S. 156 three miles east of 275th Road.
The driver slammed on the brakes to avoid a tractor-trailer in front that had slowed for railroad tracks. The Kenworth traveled into the north ditch.
EMS transported Humphreys to the hospital in Larned. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
