ASSARIA - A 17-year-old Assaria boy received minor injuries in a single-vehicle rollover early this morning.
Deputies were sent to the 7200 block of S. Ohio Street at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday for the report of an accident.
The boy was southbound on S. Ohio Street, just south of Kansas Highway 4, when he lost control of the white 2004 GMC pickup he was driving, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning. The pickup went off the east side of the roadway and rolled one time, coming to rest on its wheels. The boy then drove on into Assaria to seek help from family.
A passerby noticed what appeared to be a wrecked pickup continuing to be driven and notified the sheriff's office, Soldan said.
The boy received minor injuries and required stitches, Soldan said. He was taken to Salina Regional Health Center by his mother.
