Roseanna Marie Kinkelaar, 96, of Lindsborg, Kan., passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was born September 26, 1928, in Ingalls, Kan., to Bernard and Martha (Kowalksi) Millershaski.
Roseanna grew up on a farm outside of Ingalls, Kansas. Her childhood days were spent living, “The farm life.” That included doing many chores which left little time to be a kid. She preferred to be at school instead. She tells a story about riding an old horse named Bill to school. She did not like riding Bill at all. However, she loved going to school. She was eager to learn new things, sing in the choir, and act in plays. She always put her best efforts into school. Her hard work was rewarded, as she was named Class Valedictorian.
Roseanna married Bernard Henry Kinkelaar on April 15, 1948. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, and mother. Her days were filled with tending to her family. Along with the family she spent tireless days caring for the needs of her son, Steve, as he navigated living life with Diabetes. Roseanna also helped her aging mother with daily tasks allowing her to live at home until her passing. When her beloved husband, Bernard, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease she took on the task of being his primary caregiver. She never questioned her purpose in life except to be there for all of them.
When she found time for herself, she enjoyed creating beautiful needlework and flawlessly colored many beautiful pictures. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden, growing flowers and bird watching.
Survivors include her children, Judy Schlotfeldt of Dodge City, Kan., Donna Dauer (Norman) of Lindsborg, and Rodney Kinkelaar (Diana) of Wichita, Kan.; daughters-in-law, Kay and Nancy Kinkelaar; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
