CONCORDIA - Cloud County Community College’s Music Department will present its Holiday Music Concert this week.
The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in Cook Theatre on the Concordia campus.
The concert will feature the Concert Band, the Cloud 9 Jazz Choir, the Community Chorale, and Cloudburst, the chamber string ensemble.
The Concert Band is a non-auditioned community ensemble that performs primarily traditional wind and concert band selections. The band will perform selections including “A Joyful Christmas,” “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer,” and “Winter Wonderland.”
Cloudburst, which is made up of both Cloud County students and community members, will perform “Fantasia” from the Nutcracker Suite, “A Medieval Christmas,” and “Cornwall Christmas Tidings (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen).”
The Community Chorale is a non-auditioned, community vocal ensemble that is open to singers from both the college and area communities. The chorale will perform several selections, including “The First Noel,” “Before the Marvel of this Night,” and Deck the Hall and Swing It.”
The Cloud 9 Jazz Choir, which consists of nine talented singers, will perform “Please Come Home for Christmas,” Run, Rudolph, Run,” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” as well as several other selections.
All groups are under the direction of Christopher Langsford, instructor in music at Cloud County.
