Marilynn J Bielefeld, 84, resident of Chapman, Kansas, 1970-2019, died September 8, 2024, at Valley View Senior LIfe, Junction City, Kansas.

Born May 20, 1940, in Abilene, Kansas, to Harley and Alice (Shirk) Sexton, was raised in and attended K-12 in Junction City. She worked for Fegan Telephone in Junction City from 1957-1965. On Jun 7, 1959, Marilynn was united in marriage to Donald L Bielefeld at the First Christian Church in Junction City, where she has been a member since being baptized in the early 1950’s. After moving to Chapman in 1970, Marilynn enjoyed maintaining the home and raising her two sons with Don. The family created lots of memories camping and boating at Milford Lake nearly every summer weekend, as well as gardening and putting up the bounty of produce. In later years, she and Don had season tickets and enjoyed cheering for KSU Women’s Basketball. Marilynn along with Don were active members of NARFE, Old Trooper, Junction City, Chapter No 0383. Marilynn always enjoyed a friendly card game and playing Scrabble. In 2019, Don and Marilynn moved to Junction City, where they made new friends and transitioned to a slower pace. Survivors include husband, Don, Junction City; son, Doug (Michele) Bielefeld, Pomona, KS; son, Todd (Scott Pittman) Bielefeld, Wichita; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and four nieces.

Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Verleen Byrn.

Visitation will be at Londeen-Overlease Funeral Home in Chapman from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, September 10, and the funeral at the First Christian Church in Junction City at 11 am, Wednesday, September 11. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Junction City.
