Minor concrete work continues on Salina streets

Starting Thursday, September 12, and continuing through Friday, September 13, Davis Construction of Salina will carry out minor concrete pavement repairs on several streets in the city. The repairs are part of the City of Salina’s 2024 Minor Concrete – Pavement Repair annual maintenance project, weather permitting.

The affected areas include:

- Sunrise, from Beloit to Republic(Thursday & Friday)

- Sunrise, from Ellsworth to Beloit(Thursday & Friday)

- Sunrise, South of Ellsworth(Thursday & Friday)

The work on Sunrise Drive involves removing sections of damaged pavement and replacing them with new concrete. As these repairs are near Heusner Elementary School, and Sunrise Drive is a popular route, parents and students are advised to choose alternative routes.

Impact on Traffic

While the work will necessitate road closures to through traffic, limited access will be maintained for local residents. Motorists should expect minor delays and are encouraged to avoid the work zones if possible. Temporary traffic detours and alternate routes will be set up for convenience.

This maintenance is part of a larger project, with the total cost of repairs amounting to $80,000. The repairs are expected to improve road conditions and enhance safety in the affected areas.
